Tournament Photos & Videos // Keynsham Town Athletic // 29 Mar 2026

It was a strange start before a ball was even kicked: one team in our division folded, another couldn’t field players, and we were missing two key squad members of our own through holiday and injury. Thankfully, Rob McSweeney who had played with the core of our team previously has recently returned, otherwise we wouldnt have been able to field a team.

Match Reports

Game 1 — Taunton Town – 4-0 (Loss)

The first game we have faced without defender Emma Plummer, and the coaches bear some responsibility for the result. We needed to adapt the team in her absence and the solution we chose failed. Against one of the league’s strongest sides, the reshuffle never settled, and we spent most of the match firefighting. Not much to celebrate here, but plenty to learn from

Game 2 — Wellington – 3-0 (Win)

Our bogey team returned — the only side we’d never beaten. That changed quickly.

A smart switch saw Lee Edwards drop into defence alongside the ever-reliable Jason Hicks, instantly giving us balance and confidence. From there, the football flowed. Quick counters, sharp passing, and a team finally playing like itself again.
Every goal came from a proper team move:
– Two clinical finishes from top scorer Will Osborne
– And a beautifully unselfish assist to gift Rob McSweeney a debut-tournament goal
A dominant win against a side who usually cause us headaches.

Game 3 — Bristol City CP – 2-0 (Win)

As always, games against Bristol City CP delivered quality football from both sides. It was end-to-end, technical, and great to watch.
Our attack buzzed again, with Will Osborne and Rob McSweeney both scoring excellent individual goals. We could’ve had more if not for some superb saves from the City keeper.
At the back, the Lee–Jason partnership continued to shine, keeping a lively attack quiet. Behind them, Nino Genua collected his second clean sheet of the day — not bad for a three‑match tournament.

Player Of The Tournament

In his first tournament back Rob McSweeney, thrown straight into the midfield engine room, delivered:
2 goals, 1 assist, and a huge impact across all three matches.
Players and coaches agreed — a well‑deserved Player of the Tournament. Welcome back, Rob.
