Tournament Photos // Keynsham Town Athletic // 8 Feb 2026

We opened 2026 with an excellent all‑round display, finishing the day with two wins, one draw and two narrow defeats.  The team’s passing, movement and defensive organisation were standout features throughout, with every player producing exceptional performances.

Match Reports

Game 1 — Park Knowle – 5-0 (Win)

A dominant start to the tournament saw Keynsham control the match from the first whistle. Slick passing carved Park Knowle open repeatedly, with Lee Edwards assisting three of Will Osborne’s goals. Emma Plummer added another assist with a pinpoint goal kick, and Osborne later turned provider for Edwards. The control was so complete that Keynsham chose to finish with only four outfield players on the pitch.

Game 2 — Wellington – 1–2 (Loss)

Despite dictating much of the play, Keynsham were undone again by our bogey team. Wellington scored early on the break and sat deep to protect their lead. A neat move through midfield allowed Edwards to set up Osborne for the equaliser, but a late long throw caused problems and Wellington snatched the winner.

Game 3 — Weston Crusaders – 1-1 (Draw)

A tight, physical contest between two strong sides. Weston, bolstered by Taunton players due to injuries, took the lead when a long throw fell kindly for their striker. Keynsham responded well, continuing to press until Edwards once again supplied Osborne for the leveller.

Game 4 — Bristol City CP – 1-0 (Win)

Both teams produced attractive passing football, but Keynsham’s attacking intent paid off. With defenders drawn to Osborne, space opened for Daryll Fox to advance and set up Edwards for his second goal of the day. In goal, Nino Genua delivered another assured performance, securing his second clean sheet.

Game 5 — Taunton Town – 1-0 (Loss)

A demanding final match between two evenly matched sides. While the attacking trio of Edwards, Fox and Osborne continued to threaten, this game was defined by defensive excellence. Plummer and Jason Hicks shut down wave after wave of Taunton attacks, and Genua remained unbeatable when called upon. Late pressure finally told, with a ricochet falling to Taunton’s danger man, who finished clinically to seal the points.

Player Of The Tournament

A clear choice for the coaches. Playing in a more advanced role, Edwards delivered 2 goals and 5 assists in 5 matches, consistently driving the team forward and linking play superbly. A thoroughly deserved award.
