Keynsham Town Ability returned for their second tournament with a clear step forward.  Improved communication, sharper passing and better off-the-ball movement made the team look cohesive and confident.  Across five matches the side produced strong attacking patterns and resilient defending, finishing the day with three wins, one draw and one narrow defeat.

Match Reports

Game 1 — Wellington AFC – 0–1 (Loss)

Keynsham dominated possession and created several clear chances throughout the entire game but conceded from a chaotic goalmouth scramble following a long throw.

Despite hitting the post and a late one-on-one denied by an outstanding save, the team couldn’t find an equaliser.

Game 2 — Park Knowle Disability – 1–0 (Win)

A dominant performance produced many opportunities but only resulted in a single goal. After a cleared corner, defender Jason Hicks unleashed a stunning long-range strike that found the bottom corner. The team controlled the game, dominating both possession and territory so never looked like conceding, seeing out a convincing win.

Game 3 — Weston Ability Crusaders – 1–1 (Draw)

A physical, well-contested match between two strong sides. Weston opened the scoring from a goalmouth scramble after a corner; Keynsham then regrouped and pressed continuously. The pressure finally told when a handball on the line presented a penalty, which Will Osborne calmly converted to level the game just before the final whistle.

Game 4 — Bristol City CP – 4–0 (Win)

An emphatic win featuring fluent passing and energetic attacking play that outclassed the previous tournament winners. Will Osborne scored all four goals but was also heavily involved in creating chances for team-mates; Daryl and Lee both came close after clever assists.

Game 5 — Taunton Town – 3–0 (Win)

The team prepared well for Taunton’s key threat. Carey Cottle tracked the danger man effectively and, when beaten, Emma Plummer stepped in to neutralise him. The forward trio — Lee Edwards, Daryll Fox and Will Osborne — combined well, with Will taking all three goals to finish a commanding game and tournament performance.

A message from the Managers :

Player Of The Tournament

Will Osborne — outstanding at both ends of the pitch and top scorer with eight goals from five matches. His work rate, composure from the spot and ability to create chances for others made him an easy and well-deserved choice.
