Keynsham A v Crosscourt FC (9 -1)
Saturday 15 th August 2020
With our new look team and new manager, Gary Fisher, at the helm, our first home friendly kicked
off on Saturday the 15 th August at the AJN stadium.
This wasn’t only a test for Gary but also for many youngsters that Gary had introduced to the team
and kept a close eye on during pre-season.The team had previously faced Weston FC away during the week and following a close game, with a physical side, narrowly missed out to a 3-2 loss.
The mid-week loss had made the team more motivated for the win and within minutes, we were
ahead, after the award of a penalty. Jack Steeds put the penalty away and then swiftly followed by 3
more in short concession in order to drive confidence through the whole team.
With seven under 18 members in the squad, the team attacked at pace with goals from the majority
of the younger players, keen to impress. With goals from Connor Morgan, Owen Windsor, Will
Humble, James Humble and a 30 yard screamer from substitute and debutant Lewis Morse.
A great game of football to watch with some great performances from the whole team but especially
the younger players.
Gary’s Man of the Match went to Owen Windsor who ran the whole game in the centre of midfield
at the age of 17!!!
“We use this experience and take it in to our next friendly away to AFC Whitchurch on Saturday
the 22 nd August. We have some really exciting young players coming through the “Player
Pathway” process and when mixed with some of our older lads, provide the basis for a really good
team. Looking forward to the start of the season.”
