In common with most non-professional football clubs, there is a small band of volunteers who help keep Keynsham Town’s senior football teams running off the pitch.

The preparation which goes into First Team games especially is often hidden to the naked eye, and the Ks are lucky to have one family of 3 who devote a lot of time into running our great community club! Jules and Terrie French (a husband and wife combo) and Terrie’s mum Anne White fulfil several key roles for the club from their Keynsham home!

Jules French

Jules has been involved with the Ks for 8 years now, for most of which he has been our Club Secretary. The role of secretary in any sports organisation is critical to the running of the club. Apart from the day-to-day administrative duties, such as registering players, sending invitations to visiting clubs/match officials and dealing with FA/League communications for all 4 of our senior teams, Jules is also an important member of our “match day crew” for our home games. Although he recently retired and moved to Malta last summer, he has so far managed to continue seamlessly with all his secretarial work, which has been especially onerous in these Covid times!

Terrie French

Terrie juggles her full-time office job with several key roles at the club. She took over the Treasurer’s role 2 years ago from Ade Cole when he became Club Chairman. She has been involved with the club for 5 years though, helping to turn our tea hut from an out-of-use dumping room to the excellent match day hub you see today! In the last 12 months, Terrie has also taken on the role of the club’s Covid Officer. This (hopefully temporary) role has involved preparing the Club’s Covid Risk Assessments in line with the government and FA’s guidelines, acting as a point of contact on match days and ensuring that the essential Track and Trace requirements are carried out for both club staff at training/match days & spectators at Crown Fields.

Jules and Terrie also work closely alongside our Chairman with the various management teams to ensure that nothing is missed and that all Covid precautions are administered correctly.

Anne also fulfils a crucial task at any club, in that she washes and prepares the kit for First Team games. She has also now taken on the role of helping Terrie out in the tea hut, having already been involved in match day food preparation for a few years.

This is just a snapshot of some of the key roles at any club, but it’s nice to keep it “in the family”!!!
