Following the increased restrictions imposed by DCMS and the FA on grassroots football clubs to ensure that the risk of Covid transmission is minimised, and the Government’s decision to move us into Tier 3 regulations, the Officers of our Senior football section have held extensive conversations including discussion with our players and management team.

The safety and welfare of our supporters, volunteers, players, coaches and everyone connected with our community club is paramount.

As we do not feel that the reduced number of volunteers that we currently have (considering those who are shielding), we feel that it is the best interests of all concerned for all football matches involving Keynsham Town FC’s senior teams to cease until such time as the Covid transmission figures improve and we feel that we can provide a safe environment for all concerned in line with the Government’s advice.

This decision covers our 4 Senior teams, who play in the Toolstation Western League, Uhlsport Somerset County League, Bristol & Suburban League and Western Counties Youth League.

We will make a further statement as and when the situation dictates that a return to football is both safe and practical.

Hopefully we will be able to welcome everyone back to Crown Fields as soon as possible.
